Bumping as back in Ireland now, and have decided to do electric boat project instead of car, so this still for sale.

Wondering about suitabilty of the L210 for an application requiring max about 10-15kw of power, and apologies if this is a stupid question.

I've seen reports of others spinning the L210 at very low voltages, so is it possible/safe to use 48v to the L210, and can the zombieverter limit max power ...

what are dimensions of the box?

Not such a great idea then. As Brat says better to use a 48v motor.

I wondered about using a Leaf motor in a boat but decided I didn't want to mess with the high voltage necessary in a marine environment.

So then I thought about using the OI inverter board to remove min voltage level and use the Leaf motor at 48v. The simplistic thinking being that a 110kw motor ...

I think the Leaf inverter needs over 200V but don't quote me on that.
A while ago I used multiple 12V batteries to power my Gen one Leaf inverter.


I recall reading somewhere, wiki perhaps but cannot find it again, Leaf inverter needed 160v.

Hence was surprised to see it spinning on 60v ...

For testing I'm using about 60 volts (three cordless tool batteries).


Your cordless tool batteries caught my eye as I'm looking for a power supply to bench test before I buy the battery pack. It's obviously worked well for you on the 80kw motor with the openinverter board.

finding a salvaged leaf would be ideal. if you can pull the full drive stack (motor, inverter, pdm) along with the HV wiring, your mostly good to go. just a matter of coupling the motor to the gear box, and mounting the battery pack. zombieverter will control the full drive stack (motor, charger ...
