Re: MG Drive Unit Reverse Engineering
You can actually get access to all the MG service material for a couple of Euros for an hour. That is long enough to download all schematics, service manuals etc.
Only the parts catalogue can't be accessed unfortunately.

Re: [WIP] Mercedes L409 ex. firetruck
I think the newer sprinter gearboxes are more suitable. Remember that you will only use one or two gears while driving. Six is a lot.
That is potentially true, but there are no adapter plates or couplers for the Mercedes gearboxes yet and I wanted to keep it simple :D
But I also didn't want to ...

Re: [WIP] Mercedes L409 ex. firetruck
We plan to do something similar with my partner's Mercedes L319, but the plan is to use a BMW six speed gearbox with a 110kW Nissan Leaf. There are no other axles available for the L319 and it has a similarly high ratio of 5.857:1, so Lexus gearbox was out of the question unfortunately.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Panigale one of the first motorcycles where the engine is part of the frame? So if you remove the engine, the bike is in two parts?

Re: What type of coolant hose for EV applications?
But then I came across some comments on diyelectriccar that said that you need to use special non-conductive coolant hoses.
Sounds like BS to me. Even if the was a fault, where is the electric potential going to come from?
Usually hose barbs are on metal cases and the metal cases are grounded ...

You said on Discord that you measured the signals with your analog oscilloscope, can you show some photos of how the signals look there?
Can you also measure the +5V power supply rail?

Re: Audi A2 Prius Gen2 - huh again?
I have an Outlander RDU and Outlander Inverter that I don't need anymore, also a Prius 2 inverter.
The former two you could have for a very reasonable price, the latter for free.
Let me know if you're interested, I can even drop it off at your place when driving to my partner next time.

Oh, this is exciting. Remember though that the F10 generation already uses a lot of LIN-Bus too.
I don't know if the DDE uses it too, but certainly something to be kept in mind.
Also: why not go Lexus GS450h/IS300h?

I also see a Throttle2 error. Any ideas of what might be going on here?
The Throttle and Desat errors are most likely not related to each other. Is the M3 throttle pedal a dual pot throttle? If not you might have set the throttle mode incorrectly or the throttle ranges are not calibrated ...

Re: [WIP] Volvo Vee70 with MG drive unit
My partner and I were busy the last few days and welded up the engine mounts.
It all started with grinding off the (very light) mill scale and redrilling the rough holes from the plasma cutting:

I measured the width with the milled surfaces around the seals:

The ADC is very noisy on the V1 board too (as previously noted). I measured 250mV ripple on the VDDA pin without a functioning gate driver PSU.
You can try to add copper straps from ground pads to the mounting holes, for example with solder wick. The more the better.
Important areas are the ...

So far I can say nothing negative about Brantho Korrux 3in1. I have no comparison on how POR15 smells, but Brantho Korrux is also an oil based paint with solvent, so I wouldn't necessarily paint myself with it. However once it is dry, it would be even save for children's toys I think.
