Power steering cooler

Post by sussexbriefly »

My BMW has a simple loop of pipe in front of the radiator that the power steering fluids runs through as a simple cooler.

For a road car running in the UK is his necessary. The pipes are in the way, and i wonder whether i bother to relocate the cooler or delete it ?

I'm using a zafira electric PS pump in my convernsion.

It's hard to know how efficient the zafira pump is. But if it did not have a cooler line originally you might be able to eliminate it.

Personally I would try to reroute the cooler line and keep it. I've had the power steering fluid boil over in one of my track cars, had to add a cooler after it was built.
