Nice! I'll go to pick n pul, see if I can get one.to play around with.
So you can change hi/low as you wish?
I think the zombie can be programmed to change at a certain rpm only. You find the low gear useful?
I see you are selling your car, good luck with the sale.!

Yes, I change gear at will but it's a "dumb" shift so I don't do it under any real load. Low is helpful to show off really. MUCH more torque in low but only good (in my car) up to about 65 mph. Thanks!

Ha, nice one! What ratio is your rear end?
what gear selector cable did you use with the shifter?
The one from the same car?
Thanks!

3.73 rear. I bought one with the cable attached, so OEM. I just had to fashion a small bracket to attach to the transmission to hold the other end of the cable.

Mines a 3.73 too.

Driveline is complete, integrated slip thang.. more unforseen buckage though. 🤦‍♂️
This was another easy part. Nothing I haven't done before. . . .
20240703_181133.jpg
Made a sorta box/shelf to aid with packaging stuff.
The first attempt was to mount the inverter in-between the motor mounts down low, but it was too tight, so it's probs gonna live on the upper floor, might put the DcDc underneath.
Bit more bracing and welding, then some paint.

Hi.

Has anyone ever modified this drawing to the zombieverter pinout?

This is a great drawing, It will be a great help.
Will be straightforward to assign the correct pins on the zombie.

Has anyone had any future issues following this diagram?

It's a good diagram, I've followed it with success on my build. Between that one, and the leaf to zombie diagram & zombie pinout tables on the wiki there is enough to figure it all out

Thanks for the feedback!
I had it printed out using a 3x3' plotter printer at work..
Nice and big so i can see it all.
All the others printed from the wiki too.

My batteries arrived yesterday.
I ended up.with the A123 batteries from Greentec under the supervision of Thunderstruck EV.

https://www.greentecauto.com/hybrid-bat ... -brand-new

Their bms can connect right to these.
Fingers crossed these will do the job.

Progress extremely slow unfortunately. The zombie connectivity over wifi is driving me insane.
I get about 20% connectivity. constantly losing connection then connecting for a bit then off again.
I posted about it in the general section, but is there a way to directly hard wire connect to the zombie?

I moved away from the zombie and started concentrating on the battery setup
I'm using the ThunderStruck MCU and so far it been pretty straight forward with the A123 batteries.
I'm now in the process of charging each individual pack up to the recommended voltage and balance using the MCU to control a power supply.
Here's the very first look I had at cell voltages. I was pretty chuffed to get to this point! :D

There are ESP32 modules with Ethernet which can be used. See this thread. That's only useful if you're using a laptop of course. No good for a phone/tablet.

Some progress.
Not sure what happened before, looks like I had a short through the pwm pins.. something happened at the oil pump that I haven't figured out yet.. oil pump doesn't work.

I got the motor to turn though, precharge initiates and it goes to run mode. Still have some gremlins though as it won't precharge if I turn to key off and try to precharge again, I only get 1.8v post prechg resistor instead of the full 60v from power supply.

Started welding up some battery boxes too.

Going to figure out the oil pump issue and get the batteries all connected up and get them charging.
Does anyone have a way to bench test a pump?

Thanks!

Sounds like something I've had in the past (see link below). Have you connected the HSDN line to the inverter?

The controller casing is connected to ground yes?

Yes, seems to be the same issue, I will go check it...
Just checked and it will precharge and go to run mode every time when in park. So the inverter actually turns off when in park, well the whine switches off... OMG if had of realized this from the outset, I would have avoided chasing my tail for weeks... haha. But this in fact seems wrong too? What if someone is using an external controller and don't have the ability to go into park mode.? When set to neutral it still won't precharge. I guess this is all predetermined when you select the hardware you want to control within the web browser interface. Maybe disconnecting the HSDN would allow precharging in any gear selection.
Thanks for this park selection info.!

Yes the oil pump is grounded as is the controller too.
The donar 450h car came with a second oil pump. I've also fitted that and it won't work either. But it does spin erratically when I connect the pwm wire to the battery negative.
I'm going to buy a pwm generator to see if my zombie has somehow been hurt with a messed up oil pump...

Thanks!!

Pump issue fixed. Both power sources didn't share a common ground, once the battery and power supply negatives were connected it worked as it should, could also explain why I previously fried the zombie. I guess people should just know this stuff. . . LOL

Finally able to get access to the car.
Winter is very long here.
De-iced the car completely.
Worked up my battery boxes a little more with a coolant path, worked on the shifter assembly and mocked up a little more stuff.
Excited to get back at it.

Awesome build! Feel free to read through my posts on my MG Midget GS450h. But looks like you have a great result so far.

Thanks!!

My shifter works, but I don't have enough travel to access the momentary selection beyond drive.
Does this just select the other gearing option that's not set as "normal" in the zombie? If configured to do so?
