Wanted: HV fuses

Post by xp677 »

Hi all,

I'm after some HV fuses, Littelfuse HEV or similar. Bolted tab style. 54mm hole pitch.

I'm after 1x20A, 1x 30A, and 1x 50A unit.

I've only been able to find these new for approx £20 each, there are plenty of cheaper alternatives, but they are all in the US with high shipping rates.

Does anyone have anything available?

Cheers

What voltage - and do they have to be that pitch? The smaller BS88 fuses are usually only good to 240V DC (check the data sheet).

The longer "690V AC" BS88 fuses are cheap and usually good to 500 VDC:

Take a look at Solar PV fuses. They are usually up to 1000V DC and these current ratings should be fairly common.

Ah sorry, forgot to add, the system is 320V DC.

I didn't think about looking at the DC ratings of AC fuses, good idea.

I've already built the enclosure based around that pitch as it seems to be the most common for this type of fuse.

What type of fuse is it? 54mm pitch doesn't seem to be a BS88 size.

I based it on the Littelfuse HEV range:

The "bolt down (ISO)" package.

Because I already have a bunch of HEV fuses, so basing my project on them makes sense. Yes I am aware they don't come in a 50A rating.

I thought these were a common size for EV fuses?

Ah, I see. Yes, "HEV" fuses are around £20 each as far as I know... :?
Have you tried Altway? They sell Adler fuses.

I haven't tried them. I doubt they will sell single fuses, especially since you have to fill out an order form on their site.

My hope was that someone on this forum would have some so sell, second hand, leftover from other projects. If not, that's fine, I'll buy them.
