Re: EVSE controller PCB

Hi Tom,
I have, hopefully, a quick question.

Can you please describe the spec of Pin 8 the “Conditioned Pilot Signal”.

I have an old AVC2, and use both an old granny cable at 10A and a standard Type2 at 32A 7kW, but have to manually change the charge rate. I’d like to use Pin 8 on SimpCharge to ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit - Reverse Operation???

Reengineering the transmission for presumably alternate lubrication, is a long way from my area of expertise.

The alternative at the moment is an S/X rear SDU, but these are now in shorter supply, more expensive, and by all accounts significantly less powerful, 220kW compared to upto 280kW with the ...

Re: Project: The 'In leiu of a carb rebuild' 1985 Honda GL1200 EV conversion

I have performed multiple motorcycle conversions over the last 20 years and I tend to start with the battery, to simply work out what voltage range and capacity I can operate at within the constraints of the frame.
Something like a Goldwing has a lot of room but there are still limits. Sourcing a ...

Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit - Reverse Operation???

Hi All,
I want to use a model three rear drive unit in my next conversion, but there is very little room in front of the rear axle line, so I may have to rotate the drive 180° and then run it in reverse.
Is this possible?.
I have searched this forum and the internet/YouTube etc. but cannot find any ...

Re: Chademo Controller Development

Hi Damien,
Can you just explain how much self assembly is required on the kit. Are all the surface mount devices assembled and it’s just the through hole devices that need to be soldered, or is it a bare PCB and all components need to be soldered on?

Re: Chademo Controller Development

OK, Cool, makes a lots of sense, getting the charger to respond reliably and consistently is going to be the biggest challenge.

I think a single I/O (Go/No Go) from the BMS is all the feedback that is necessary at this point.

Re: Chademo Controller Development

Hi All,

Amazing collaboration going on here. I have been lurking on this thread for the last couple of months and I would like to volunteer as a beta tester?

I have been wanting to fit CHAdeMO to my race bike (s) and have a 10kW single phase portable CHAdeMO charger ready to go. I built the ...
