being rwd, they are doj, double offset joints. a cv on the outer end is not needed as the rear wheels dont do steering.
youll want to measure with the wheel and the driveunit lined up perfectly, full compression of the inner cv races.

Re: Leaf swapped Nissan 720…. On the side of the road!
Nope not upgrade able. ID4/3 /MEB are VDA599 and the EGolf are VDA355. Ipace are not VDA355, they are slightly longer. Alot of other cars are almost VDA355 but longer. Just saw an id pack, and yeah totally miss calculated. Thanks for the clarity It’s just some calb modules that are VDA355 so it app...

Been daily driving the truck for the past while, and slowly tidying things up. Temporary CHAdeMO was added Did a big round trip across Vancouver island loaded with solar, over 600km total. Re: [WIP] Project Rising Sun: Suzuki SJ410k meets Leaf full stack
See, the HI-Flex cable I got is 50mm2 and I acquired the correct size grommets for it. And YES, this is actually rated 750V :) Hi-Flex 50mm2.jpg Also, the IWISS cable crimper I bought for crimping these does not make the crimp tight enough even though I adjusted this to the max. Will have to recrim...

Re: [WIP] 2003 Dodge Dakota 4x4, Dual Leaf Motors
As the Dakota is front steer, and a Leaf is rear steer I need to mount the front motor backwards to avoid having highly angled axles. Rather than change the motor phase conductors and resolver wiring, I am planning to use the Open Inverter Leaf Gen2 board to circumvent the reverse speed limit and i...

Re: [FIRST DRIVE] 1996 Nissan D21 Hardbody 4x4 Leaf Swap
How did you overcome this issue on your 720 build? Are you using a build of the GitHub fork with the fix? I'm I able to to manually push the ID with the OpenInverter CAN Tool? I will be moving in a few weeks. It would be nice to get a 1 day tag and drive it across town to my new house without towin...

No there’s a missing can ID making it go into fail safe.
It’s a bug in the zombie code

Re: E Golf Battery pack
Picks up a 2019 e golf pack and tore it down. Ugly packing/bus bar design.
Word of caution!
The contractor assembly must have a capacitor bank, as it will hold a HV charge! I was very lucky I only got a minor shock from handling it after the pack was torn down.

allow for adequate dead space between the box walls and the modules, especially if the box will be exposed to the elements. This also allows for some separation of coolant and modules if a leaks occurs, a drain plug is a good simple addition. mid pack disconnects to enable safe handling and assembly...

Re: [DRIVING] leaf powered 1983 Subaru BRAT (dual outlander WIP)
Brat is pretty beat up at this point. I’m slowly gathering the bits for v2. here’s where I’m at with the new front end: new subframe to accommodate the outlander drive unit and fixes the suspension geometry. IMG_3701.jpeg Packing is definitely getting tight be everything should fit where I’d like. s...

Turns out 1st gear is good for 65 MPH at 10,000 RPM! In 2nd it can cruise easily at 75 MPH at 6,500 RPM. Almost feels like we need shorter rear-end gearing to get the full potential out of it. Using the tachometer I was able to confirm the final drive ratio is 3.7:1, which is correct for this make/...

Okay so outlander obc
you have the proximity from the charge port to an analog input on the zombie and the prams set accordingly?
And the control pilot from the charge port to pin 9(blue?) on the harness to the outlander obc?
have you tired to charger befor going into run mode?

Re: GM Disappoints Again
The demand might be there but the economics of the supply aren’t yet. Tesla is one of the only ones making money on there cars, the bolt is a loser for gm. The comparison between a mY, R1s and a bolt euv are pretty unfair, r1s is an electric Range Rover. The bolt is a budget suv. I’m not even sure t...
