Re: Zombieverter & Gen2 Leafstack - RPM surging in Forward direction but stable in Reverse
Not true. The action of going into precharge and the Leaf BMS sending a plausible Battery Voltage (UDC1) has the zombie update the UDCsw to a value based off UDC1.
This is only done with ShuntType = 0 and BmsType = 4
Thanks again Tom for clearing this one up too. It is great that there are ...

Re: Zombieverter & Gen2 Leafstack - RPM surging in Forward direction but stable in Reverse
Does nothing with the Leaf inverter. As indicated by the spot value description on wiki. https://openinverter.org/wiki/Zombieverter_Parameters_and_Spot_Values
Hi Tom - thanks for clearing that up for me. I guess the reason I was confused was that I could see the value changing, and I had read ...

Re: Zombieverter & Gen2 Leafstack - RPM surging in Forward direction but stable in Reverse
Well I went with JOhannes’ suggestion and pulled out the contactors and gave them a few good bumps on the workbench. It did the trick and they both came unstuck. I power cycled them a few times on the bench with an ohmeter across the contactors and both seemed to work ok. I reassembled the contactor ...

Re: Zombieverter & Gen2 Leafstack - RPM surging in Forward direction but stable in Reverse
Hi JOhannes - good idea. I will see if I can free up the contactors to allow me to keep testing as you suggest. I have ordered some Kilovacs like the ones Damien put in his truck, so hopefully I wont have the same problem in the future. I will also pay more attention when charging the car too ! I am ...

Re: Zombieverter & Gen2 Leafstack - RPM surging in Forward direction but stable in Reverse
Looked at parameters for the L200 Damien has shared on Github
He's using a single channel pot throttle setup. I'll try this also to see if it makes a difference on my setup.

Re: Zombieverter & Gen2 Leafstack - RPM surging in Forward direction but stable in Reverse
And another update:
I realised today that I could not here my contactors opening on shutdown. I opened up the battery pack and checked them individually, and both the positive and negative contacts are stuck closed. The precharge contactor is still ok. I am not sure when they failed. I have ordered ...

Re: Zombieverter & Gen2 Leafstack - RPM surging in Forward direction but stable in Reverse
Further update:
As per my reply to JOhannes - I tried the original Leaf throttlepedal. I still get the “Throttle12Diff” error, however it is more responsive than the throttle pedal I had been using. It also made no difference to the lack of grunt in reverse.

Re: Zombieverter & Gen2 Leafstack - RPM surging in Forward direction but stable in Reverse
this will create a judder
OK - if I changed my throttle to single channel would that eliminate it as a cause of the judder at takeoff?
Other thing to try drop your "throtramp": 10 to lets say 2.
i will give it a try and report back
this is a problem, can you plot potnom, speed and ...

Hi again Brainstrust,

Re: Zombieverter & Gen2 Leafstack - RPM surging in Forward direction but stable in Reverse
Hi Tom, - this time I got the plots for speed and potnom as requested. First plot in Foward and 2nd in reverse. As you can see, no readings for potnom in either direction. Also, I gradually applied the throttle pretty much the same in both directions, but you can see from the plot, that in the ...

Re: Zombieverter & Gen2 Leafstack - RPM surging in Forward direction but stable in Reverse
Hi Tom,
Thanks for your reply. The stack is in the vehicle when I run it, but yes, the gearbox is in neutral, so the only load onthe motor is the input shaft to the gearbox. But i have also tried jacking up the car and putting the car in gear so it is spinning the rear wheels. No real change -if i ...

Hi Brainstrust - I need some assistance with my full 2014 Leafstack that runs smoothly in Reverse direction, but is unstable and surges when spun up in the forward direction. I have searched the forum but have not found anything yet that matches my problems. This is my setup:

Re: [FIRST DRIVE] 1996 Nissan D21 Hardbody 4x4 Leaf Swap
I finally got the Nissan to charge with the Leaf PDM with the help of J0hannes. He kindly provided me with his fork of the ZOmbieverter code for testing. I took the Nissan for a 5 mile trip to the gas station for snacks, and the only issue I noticed is a drive shaft vibration.

Success at last!! I not only got my shunt to supply values, but I even got the motor to spin in both directions! So I am a very happy chappy, and I’d like to say many thanks to Royhen99 and Tom91 for your help. This is how I solved it.

Re: No readings from shunt on Zombie web interface
From your description the shunt should be on CAN2 ( both connection and web page selection ) and is currently not initialised hence the erratic readings.
Thanks for that. I thought it should be on Can2 as well. And that is how I originaly connected it up. But when I tried to initialise it on ...

Re: No readings from shunt on Zombie web interface
The CAN1 and CAN2 pinout on the wiki were incorrect up until May last year. Now the pinout and interface selection on the web page match. Check wiring and selected interface match i.e. both CAN2 ( or CAN1 ), and maybe the IVT-S shunt is not initialised so try that again. Also it is not clear if ...
