Re: TESLA SDU Inverter Temp Derating limit

We don't have a water temp sensor but it likely follows the inverter's temp with a delay and an offset due to it's mass, but the inverter temp goes down as fast as it went up, which tells us the radiator works well.

We don't have air in the system as two features capture the remaining air : an ...

TESLA SDU Inverter Temp Derating limit

Hello all,
we have this 911 conversion with a SDU and a pack of i3 batteries.
It works quite well but the Inverter Temp is raising VERY fast when a lot of torque is required, for instance when starting from 0km/h and/or driving uphill.

In our parameter set, we have a derating at 85°C and wonder ...

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.96.R

Maybe you want to double-check that the stored calculated value has the correct ratio because it's quite surprising I had to offset the théorical value of 0.0125 to 12.5, considering that the gauge expects values from the CAN Message with a 0.1 ratio (or x10 depending on which side you're looking at ...

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.96.R

Update : it works !
Even though the ratio I had to set was not 0.0125 (or 2560 = 80*32) because the gauge expected a fractionned value (in km/h) so eventually the correct ratio I needed for the value transmitted in the CAN Message was 400 (= 12.5 * 32).

Fortunately I was able to test several ...

Well where in the change log does it say that I added this? ;)

lol, indeed but when I told you about it, you replied that you had this issue yourself on some car, so I assumed you were adding the topic on your to-do list...

Anyway, thanks a lot for that special version.

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.96.R

I'm afraid the decimal values for the CAN message ratio are not processed
:-/

if I try to enter a CAN message with 0.0125 or 0,0125, the command looks fine :

Still wondering how to transition so that people don't have to reconfigure all their CAN messages.
OK.

BTW, is there a utility to save/restore the CAN definition to a specific file ?
It might be interesting anyway.

have you had time to allow <1 ratio for CAN messages definition as well ?

Re: How much power the SDU really makes

I don't know yet, because we haven't rolled it on a bench, but behind the steering wheel the human feeling is much higher than the OEM Porsche 911 SC which has 200hp and around 220Nm torque.

I guess it's linked to the battery pack characteristics as well (total V, discharge perfs, etc...)

Re: Tesla Parameters Thread

Hi Manu,

Nice post, lots of details. What is your car's weight, probably around 1,5 tonnes, right?

Nope, fortunately not !
It's now around 1150kg because
- it has been striped to bare metal before the tesla fitting, and soundproof material is very heavy on these cars
- total weight off from a ...

Re: Any driveability quirks/complaints?

On my SDU setup, I worked on the slip parameters tuning recently, to avoid very fast inverter temperature rise, and doing this I somehow managed to eliminate vibrating and weird oscillations (is that what you call quirks ?) at very low throttle and low speed.

I suspect the slipstart value to be ...

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.90.R

Hello,
I am in the process of setting CAN messages to drive the digital gauges we purchased.
Unfortunately, the speedo is waiting for a value in km/h and the gain value accepts only integer value (it seems) while I shall need to divide the "speed" value by 80 to have a direct km/h conversion, so a 0 ...

Re: Tesla Parameters Thread

Hello all,

here is my parameter set, even though we're still working on several improvements.

Car is a 911 with Tesla SDU and 8 x i3 batteries.
Rear tires are MICHELIN Pilot Sport Ps2 255/40R17, so a lot of grip.

The major issue we had was some unwanted power cuts due to excessive inverter ...

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.90.R

It's working with me now, after Pololbricolo found out that my speedkp was wrong (0), so I corrected it with 0.25

Meaning : maybe it worked with previous version though (with "pot2min": 1, "pot2max": 10, )

Anyway, thanks a lot, I'm going fine tuning now !

About the regen parameters, shall I leave pot2min/max with 1/10 ?
Or set them back with the default value, as before : 4095/4095 ?

I was about to post my parameters on the previous 4.87R topic because of the disabled Regen issue, which did not work either on my car, even with the pot2min/max set at 1/10.

I'll try this update tonight and let you know.

I'm going to look into that.

but this topic suggests php scripts could be executed, that would be perfect !

Re: Gauge Update

Another question : is there any kind of script that can be executed on "server" side ?

My idea is to add a password in html pages that are able to modify sensible parameters and leave "read only" pages as they are today (such as gauges).
That password would be stored in a server script.
