Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
I have no way to know. Just taking it at face value. I do however feel I'm being backed into the refund corner yet again. If so then I'm out.
I'm going to need a hacksaw

Why would someone think that you offer Spanish support on an English website?Jack Bauer wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 5:57 pmI do however feel I'm being backed into the refund corner yet again. If so then I'm out.
Do they expect you to speak every language in the world at a technical level? What if they want you to communicate using only Peruvian Folk Dance?
I'd just straight up refuse a refund.
Have they even attempted to post here and ask their questions?
Tell them to use Google Translate and post in English here and translate back and read in Spanish.

1000% agree with MattsAwsomeStuff. It's entirely on the customer. If he can read enough to buy the thing he can read enough to use the forum. Either that or he can sell it on the bay. You couldn't be clearer in your terms of sale Damien, so he has no legal leg to stand on and no ethical leg either. Sin piernas

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
Recieved my VCU today (thanks Damien!), I have one question already, which enclosure should I buy? I tried a search but only came up with the section that´s already there, or maybe the VCU gets too hot inside those small enclosures and that´s why the part number isn't written with the Molex connectors on Github?

Amazing designs for the HV and input converter covers. Are they complete? Can the files be shared to print them out ourselves? Thanksxp677 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 12:50 am It's glued/bonded in - I had to smash mine out. I think I used a screwdriver and then a craft knife to clean up the rest. Be careful not to cut yourself or scratch the aluminium, it's a mating face for my cover!
DC bus cover pictured in my last post is done. I just want to add o-ring grooves around the cable entries, and a million other tiny things that I'll notice.

Now onto the converter input cover!

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
Above you state Auto-click has all the necessary connectors. I have ordered everything but the main inverter connecto,Inverter interface connector (A62) 90980–12630. Unfortunately my inverter did not include the wiring loom. Now I understand that's a critical element but not before buying my first one. Does anyone have a source to buy or options for a work around?Dilbert wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 3:04 pm The thread on the GS450h gearbox connections has all the info you need. Auto-click in the UK has required connectors. You can also buy the other connector from them too.

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
This is my version of inverter connector, based on Molex parts.
First I tore the original connector apart Then I soldered the wires to the new connector.
After that it was time to try to fit the new connector to the inverter, I used the old connector and cut it flush. Then some cutting with the knife to get it square, and last but not least some sealant between the two.
This is the final inverter connector: If anyone is interested I have all the partnumbers for my build somewhere, I can post them if there is interest.

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
These are still not quite ready, I need to work on the seals between the sections and make some adjustments to the fit, especially on the converter piece, which needed notching on the prototypes to clear the water inlet casting.jcwright45 wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 10:50 am Amazing designs for the HV and input converter covers. Fits perfectly. Thanks Filip. If you don't mind, we should add this to the wiki.

The HV- contactor would normally use the key switch to ensure it's closed when ever the precharge or HV+contactors are closed.
I would also recommend adding an inertia switch in the 12V supply to the HV- contactor to cut power after a collision.
