Re: DC Fastcharging via CCS2 for Renault Twizy BMS
I have a similar problem with my conversion I am planning.
It is likely a ca 100 volt system but when I see the number of CCS chargers on the routes I want to drive with the car I would like to have the option: Not because I want the speed of charging but just to have the freedom of choice.

EV1 found in the wild and being restored
Please move or delete if this doesn't count as "news" but I have been watching these videos and there is a LOT of detail on how EVs work and of course history of GMs first production EV:

Re: Using a PMSM and inverter to generate and regulate a DC voltage
Ugh, I feel your pain about the battery thing. Since EVs were banned in my local autocross clubs I seriously thought about doing something similar. Except I'd been wondering about just running the phases from one motor to the other.
Banned on what grounds?

Re: PTC heaters
That's what I did with the 3kW PTC heater from Feleten. An Arduino measures the temperatures and regulates them with PWM. SSR and PTC together cost around €250. The one from KIA looks good too. Does anyone know how it is controlled?

Re: EV Cannonball Attempt
One thing I was thinking is maybe a self-propelled trailer that is full of battery makes more sense.
You could use a car that is not a giant brick and if the trailer is self-propelled it would increase efficiency.
It would also mean you could detach and charge separately.

Interesting and thank you!
Keeping the gearbox is mostly to make it easier to get through the TÜV. The less I change the less I have to explain.
I have an aluminum bell-housing and flywheel that bring down the weight by almost 20 KG. The gearbox itself only weighs about 15 KG (I know because I ...

Very interesting.. now if I could find something to go the other way as my conversion will likely be AC only (sub 200 volt).
