Nice work! If it helps, also have isolation test/read working via original SME in battery emulator project...
There is also a "quality" score of the measurement //STAT_R_ISO_ROH_QAL_01_INFO Quality of measurement 0-21 (higher better)

Re: BMW GENERATION 5 packs (IX3 etc) - opening / reuse / reverse engineering
Recommend joining the battery emulator discord as we have a lot of people working on it. No the BMS will not send any traffic on it's own - you have to wake & poll it continuously. Suggest starting with the battery emulator working code as a starting point or use a BMW BDC to awaken it. We have ...

Re: BMW GENERATION 5 packs (IX3 etc) - opening / reuse / reverse engineering
Correct, need canlogs (CANFD) from working vehicle to proceed - even an uncrashed pack remains in balancing off mode. Suspect it needs vehicle messages and maybe drive mode flag.

Re: Info on BMW hybrid battery packs?
Does anyone happen to have any vehicle side can logs from a BMW PHEV? I'm able to read out all parameters (SOC, temps, cell volts, power limits) from the intact SME, but am unable to close contactors and get a invalid qualifier status message from the balancing status. I think I need some vehicle ...

iX support is now in main release of battery emulator - do still need someone with an un-crashed battery to test contactors with though!

It won't send CAN on it's own & it's also CAN-FD at 500/2mb - not standard CAN. You can hold wake high it seems - and it'll stay awake waiting for CAN. It'll start sending it's messages with just a counter sent to it on 0x0C0 (you'll see it in the code)

I'm also working on Gen5 packs - have started some documentation on the dala wiki:

I also have a battery emulator feature branch that has basic support already. https://github.com/dalathegreat/Battery-Emulator/tree ...

Re: Dead SDU? or not?
Not sure what level the fault signal should be but please be super careful if you have HV connected and live with the inverter open. Should ideally be using HV rated gloves. Guessing you are just testing interlock without voltage but just in case!

Suspect Tom is right - but just in case - I had an issue caused by the HVIL input
For anyone trying to fix similar - I found a tombstoned capacitor (C50) on the HVIL line into the nand gate - resoldering that appears to have fixed the issue. I guess HVIL was triggering - which it seems would also ...

Do you have the 12v to the PDM switched via the VCU controlled relay? Describing the same symptom as when you wake the PDM ign line before precharge. If it helps I can confirm AC charging is working fine on v2

You can buy these direct from BMW for next to nothing - the short one for side by side modules ones are £13 if I remember correctly!

Re: Nissan Leaf Resolver offsets
Thanks, yes I'd seen that one, but it didn't mention whether offsets were considered. In theory it would still work to some degree even if 180 out, do you think power matches expected, get good regen and is it the same performance when in reverse gear?

Re: Best sine parameter to vary for traction control?
Back to testing this. This time implemented a full PID controller.
Parameters need a fair bit of tuning, but best result yet. Still oscillating but slip angle was kept within 40% - current is being pulled back within 50ms of the slip starting, but still takes 200ms to control.

Re: Best sine parameter to vary for traction control?
Not able to get as close with an integral approach, tried a few things. Probably need to look towards PID - the derivative should prevent the overshoot both of these approaches give.

Re: Best sine parameter to vary for traction control?
Exactly, currently it's 3* slipError (deviation from desired slip)
I was just focused on the first slip ie: getting a control loop fast enough to catch the initial slip - but was certainly expecting getting my approach to reach steady state would need lots of tuning. Will give integral-only ...

Re: Best sine parameter to vary for traction control?
Another slight improvement. 50%/10ms and throtfilter 3. I reckon I can shave off even more time by either dropping the target slip (so it drops throtmax quicker) and increasing the proportional response (or moving to a basic PID controller that can see the trend of increasing slip earlier) and ...
