Tesla Model X rear suspension FREE
Pretty much complete, sub assembly, swing arms, ARB, with hubs and calipers.
All bushings are good.
I obtained this to reference all the SDU mounting geometry, no longer need it.
Free for pick up in Central Florida

Is discharge required?
I have been looking into device discharge, to deal with units that hold a charge after they are disconnected from H. V. by the contactor.
Do the Tesla motors hold a charge?
If so, how to discharge it?
I am used to the other side of the equation, where it is common practice to have a 100k resistor ...

SDU cooling fan trigger temperature?
Does anyone know the running coolant temperature range for the SDU inverter and motor?
I am using separate cooling loops and radiators for each.
I want to use coolant temperature sensors to control the radiator fans, my thought is to have the circulation pumps always on.

How about a cage made from solid square aluminum bar, either welded or drilled, tapped, and fastened together to support the weight of the batteries and bits to be attached to it, then poly top, bottom & sides that are attached to this frame with threaded fasteners?

Re: Webasto HVH50
I am going to open this thing up and trace out the circuit.
As I understand it, all that is happening is there is an IGBT on one side of each PTC element that acts like a switch, connecting it to one side of the HV.
The other side is always connected to the opposite polarity of the HV.

What lubricant to use inner CV/Tripod joint?
Tesla specifies 130 grams of KY Luber C.
I can not find mention of this lubricant anywhere else (most searches come up with KY jelly!).
It is clearly a special lubricant, if you have encountered it you know.
I have never seen anything like it.
Does anyone know what this is and where to obtain it ...

An off the shelf GPS module puts out a 0-5VDC signal in direct proportion to actual vehicle speed.

Re: [DRIVING] VX220 with Tesla SDU
Having run an "old school" converted vehicle for many years that had a clutch that was removed for direct coupling along with the clutch pedal removed, I would suggest NOT removing the clutch pedal. The spacing of pedals in a 2 pedal car is different than 3 pedal, with the brake pedal very close to ...

Re: Webasto HVH50
I think that with no HV you will only receive a "not ready" response
The Webasto doc notes that the HV MUST employ a pre-charge
According to post 16 on page 1 no interlock is required, but it is easy enough to try, just jumper the interlock pins on the HV connector

Part of what I like about EV-Olution's design is that there are status LEDs (and a start - stop button!) simply using MPU I/O pins

I am using the 2p8s modules, the 16s are probably similar. Orange is the cell taps and yellow is the temp sensors.
Just start at one end with a probe on you VOM and find the other end, where you will read the total pack voltage.

Thanks for the informative reply!
Does the frequency of the PWM signal act as a "temperature" control, and by changing the frequency on can set the compressor on-off cycle thereby controlling the AC temp?
